European Parliament urges Iranian authorities to stop human rights violations

The European Parliament urged the Iranian authorities to conduct a new investigation into the exact circumstances of Behesht’s death and demanded exemplary punishment for perpetrators. Furthermore, the resolution condemns the use of corporate violence and the use of the death penalty in Iran and calls on authorities to “institute a moratorium on executions pending the abolition of the death penalty, in accordance with UN General Assembly Resolutions”. The resolution also calls on Iranian authorities to set free all political prisoners and prisoners of conscience, including Sakharov Prize winner Nasrin Sotoudeh. All the prisoners must have access to legal support and medical care. Iran must accept and facilitate peaceful protests and respect religious freedom. The European Parliament forces the Iranian authorities to collaborate with the international community in order to improve the human rights situation in the country and allow the UN Special Rapporteur for Human Rights in Iran, Dr Ahmed Shaheed to visit the country.
The Iranian blogger Sattar Behesht was arrested and tortured to death by Iran’s cyber-police known also as Fata. Sattar Behesht had been accused of acting against the national security.

All visitations for women political prisoners in Evin is canceled
According to Hrana, the Iranian regime's prosecutor ordered suspension of all visitations for female prisoners on Wednesday. It's been reported that this order comes after a group of female political prisoners pulicly worte about Sattar Beheshti's death under torture and raised concerns regarding Nasrin Sotudeh a jailed lawyer who's been on hunger strike for more than 3 weeks now. She finally was permitted to visit her family in person on Tuesday but infisised that her hunger strike is indefinite. Her 13 year old daughter and her husband have been banned from leaving the country.

 

Political prisoner in critical condition in southeastern Iran
Political prisoner Iraj Mohammadi is in critical condition and the regime’s Ministry of Intelligence interrogators are refusing him any medical service, Hrana reported on Wednesday. Political prisoner Iraj Mohammadi, held in Zahedan Prison, southeastern Iran, has been suffering from serious kidney infection and serious pains for a significant amount of time. Currently this political prisoner is being held alongside dangerous prisoners. Zahedan Prison intelligence agents have attacked and severely beaten Mohammadi. Furthermore, the conditions in Zahedan Prison have seriously deteriorated and prisoners are facing severe malnutrition and starvation.

 

The Iranian regime has killed a young man for insulting Khamenei in Mashhad
According to news obtained by Freedom Messenger, after a young man named Saeed Sadeghi from Mashad city in Iran went missing for a few days, his family was informed that he was dead and that they could come and pick up his body. Most of the locals including his friends, relatives and family members believe that his crime was for an insult towards the supreme leader Ali Khamenei. Sources stated that all of his personal belongings was confiscated by the security forces as well.
