Canada Again Leads UN Condemnation of Iranian regime
According to Canadian Foreign Ministry Website, Dec., 20 the Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird issued a statement declaring that the United Nations General Assembly has adopted the Canada-led resolution on the situation of human rights in Iran.

The statement reads:  “We are proud of the substantial support that this resolution garnered at the United Nations. The community of nations spoke with clarity of view and purpose to acknowledge what the regime in
Tehran
consistently denies: its widespread, systematic and egregious human rights violations. This is a clear signal that these violations will not be tolerated.
“The resolution is also important because it reminds courageous individuals and their families, as well as victims of human rights violations, that they have not been forgotten by the international community. “
Canada will not stay silent on these issues. We will continue to express serious concern about the ongoing and pervasive human rights violations in Iran
, including the persecution of religious minorities.
“Canada is a vigorous defender of freedom, democracy, human rights and the rule of law around the world, and we will continue to urge the regime in Tehran to uphold its obligations and respect the human rights and fundamental freedoms of all people in Iran“.  This year, for the 10th consecutive year,
Canada led in sponsoring a resolution in the General Assembly condemning human rights abuses in Iran. The resolution again condemned the use of cruel and inhuman punishments in Iran
and deplored a dramatic increase in executions, as well as discrimination and human rights violations against women and ethnic and religious minorities.
 Through these resolutions,
Canada has consistently focused the world’s attention on the egregious and long-standing violations of human rights by Iranian authorities. These human rights violations run an appalling gamut and target women, girls, and ethnic and religious minorities.

Canada removed Mojahedin Organization of Iran from the blacklists
According to The Canadian Press on Dec. 20th Canada has dropped an Iranian group from its official list of terrorists. In taking the Mujahedin-e-Khalq, or MEK, off the list, the Conservative government is following the lead of the United States and the European Union. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Qods Force, the secret branch of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, was also added to the roster.
The MEK, once an armed faction, now says it wants to replace
Tehran’s clerical regime with a secular government through peaceful means. In delisting the MEK in September, the United States noted the group had not engaged in terrorism for more than a decade.
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, described the removal of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) from Canada’s list of terrorist entities and the designation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Qods Force a right step in the right direction. She welcomed the decision by Canada’s Governor General and the Canadian Government, in particular by the Ministers of Public Safety and Foreign Affairs.
She said: This designation, part and parcel of the policy to appease the ruling mullahs in
Iran, should never have been done in the first place. It provided an excuse for the suppression and murder of Iranian people and members of the People’s Mojahedin in Camp Ashraf, Iraq. Labelling the PMOI a terrorist organization marked an enormous aberration in combating terrorism. The designation of the most anti-terrorist and anti-fundamentalist movement in the world only emboldened the real terrorists and the godfather of terrorism and fundamentalism, namely the dictatorship ruling Iran. ”The time has come to completely shun the policy of appeasement and recognize and support the Iranian resistance to overthrow the clerical regime and establish democracy in Iran. The rights and protection of residents of Camps Ashraf and Liberty, members of the PMOI, should be guaranteed and Camp Liberty should be declared as a refugee camp,” Rajavi emphasised.

The Iranian regime on Wednesday morning collectively executed seven inmates in Isfahan Prison, central Iran. This is while the state-run Keyhan daily, published this news on Thursday. The regime’s public prosecutor in the city of Isfahan said those executed ranged between the ages of 25 and 45.
In another news the Iranian regime executed one person in the city of Kashan, central Iran. These executions are taking place to create a climate of fear and terror to prevent social unrest, protests and demonstrations against the regime, especially before the upcoming elections that have already created serious rifts amongst the regime’s senior ranks.
