Zahra Kazemi was killed on
Juyl 11, 2003. She was a Canadian photo-journalist who was allowed to go
to Iran and while taking pictures of the protests of families of the
detainees, outside Evin prison she was arrested. She was tortured and raped
in prison and ultimately lost her life. Dr. Shahram Azam testified that
he had seen signs of tortures and repeated rape attempts on her body.
Her son Stephan Hashemi has been trying to return her mother's body back
to Canada. The Iranian regime said that a hard object had collided with
her head or her head had hit a hard object
