How can this help promote Peace, Justice and Human rights?

Four members of a group called "Elders", including Kofi Annan, former UN Secretary General, Desmond Tutu former Archbishop of Cape Town, Martti Ahtisaari, former President of Finland (Nobel Peace Prize winner) and former President of Mexico Ernesto Dzylv arrived in Iran on Sunday Jan. 26, 2014.
"The purpose of the three-day visit is to encourage and advance the new spirit of openness and dialogue between Iran and the international community,” the group said on its website. “The Elders see the recent positive

developments as a historic and strategic opportunity to end decades of animosity.”
Chaired by Kofi Annan, the Elders is an independent group of global leaders who work together for peace and human rights. They were brought together in 2007 by Nelson Mandela. The question is, How this picture justify the "Elders" action?
