32 Iranian female prisoners in Qarchak Prison of Varamin resumed their hunger strike from December 21, 2016. They had paused their hunger strike a few days ago after prison authorities gave them false promises.
They had been beaten up badly on December 18 for insisting on their demands.
The women used to be students of prisoner of conscience Mohammad Ali Taheri, founder of the Cosmic Mysticism (Erfan-e Halgheh) who is presently on hunger strike in protest for being detained after completing his sentence.

Workers of the Ghazvin-Rasht railroad project in the Iranian city of Roodbar, protested the nonpayment of their salaries, in front the municipality building in Roodbar, on December 21.
According to the workers who participated in this demonstration, the contracting company that is responsible to build 14 kilometers of this railway, has not paid their salaries for the past 5 months.
One of the workers said: “if our demands are not met, we will continue our protest on a larger scale.”

Security forces of the Intelligence Department arrested Bahaii couple, Fariba Rouhani and her husband Amrollah Khaleghian, on Wednesday, December 21.
They also confiscated the couple's personal belongings, computers, laptops, and books and handed the couple over to the Intelligence Department of Kerman.

Political prisoner Lavin Karimi who is suffering from hemorrhage of stomach ulcer started a hunger strike on Wednesday, December 21, to protest the refusal of Hamedan Prison authorities for her treatment at hospital and the prosecutor's refusal to grant her prison leave.
The young student from Saqqez suffered stomach ulcer due to torture under interrogation. Lavin Karimi, 26, was studying management, when she was arrested on the charge of cooperation with an opposition Kurdish party and sentenced to three years of imprisonment.

State-run Fars news agency reported on Dec. 21 that some 70 doctors and nurses of Gachsaran's Rajaii Hospital staged a protest on Wednesday, December 21, against non-payment of one year of their bonuses.
The protesters, representing 700 personnel of the hospital, gathered in front of the administration building. Simultaneously, the hospital's operation rooms and clinic were shut down.
Gachsaran is located in the southwestern province of Kohgilouyeh and Boyer Ahmad.

According to State-run Isna news agency, Dec. 1, the State Security Force has arrested 1200 internet users, including some 300 women, in Iran over eight months from March to November 2016, for their activities on social networks.
This was announced by the SSF Commander of Tehran, Hossein Sajedi-Nia.
Sajedi-Nia said that 986 men and 298 women had been arrested in eight months. They are accused of disseminating false information, audio and video clips on the internet.

According to State-run Kord Today website Dec. 20, the Marriages of 339 child-girls under 15 years of age have been registered in Kurdistan Province in Iran, this year, whose average age ranges between 10 and 14.
This was announced by Mohsen Aghaii, general director of Kurdistan Province's Census Registration Department.
Aghaii pointed out that 2,655 cases of divorce have been registered this year which shows 6 per cent increase compared to the same period last year.
