An earthquake of 5.7 magnitude shook the northeastern city of Bojnurd in North Khorasan province May 13. Some 400 people were injured and an old woman and a 12 year old girl are among the dead, according to State-run Mehr news agency Several nearby villages are damaged, some of them between 30-60 percent destroyed. It is not clear how people are trapped under the debris.
Schools and universities in Bojnurd were closed on Sunday. So far, there has been 26 aftershocks.
Sun.day morning, May 14, Iran local time, a 3.5 earthquake shook Bojnurd again. On Thursday Bileh-Savar in Ardebil was shaken by a 5.0 earthquake where 20 people were hurt.

The Iranian regime's six presidential candidates exchanged barbs in their final debate on Friday, accusing each other of corruption and economic mismanagement a week ahead of the election.
Hassan Rouhani whose hoping for the second term, faced accusations of a failed nuclear deal which has not benefited the Iranian people, during the final televised debate with his rivals before the country’s presidential election next week. People say that the Candidates don't have any plans for the country's political and economic turmoil, instead they expose each other's Astronomical thefts in various posts in the last 38 years. Meanwhile Mahmoud Ahamadi Nejad the former president for the Iranian regime,
has said that he's not supporting any of the current Candidates and emphasized that the outcome of the election will have no impact on Iran’s future.

State run Mehr news agency May 11 reported that 60 young men and women were arrested in a private party in Gorgan, north of Iran. Gorgan’s Prosecutor Ezzatollah Hamzehnejad said, “They were arrested on the order of judiciary officials and by the moral security police.”

Women imprisoned in the Women's Ward of Evin Prison face numerous health problems after they have been denied hot water. According to an informed source, "Hot water has been cut off virtually every day over the past month after the heating system was turned off much sooner than the weather gets warm." There are 31 prisoners detained in the Women's Ward of Evin Prison, most of them on political or national security charges.

Fatemeh Mosanna, a political prisoner in Evin, is suffering from severe tendon injury in her leg because she was not given the necessary treatment at the time of the injury last year during break when she was walking in the yard.
Doctors have diagnosed that she suffers from chronic tendon tear in the foot, which could be cured if she had received treatment in time.
Fatemeh Mosanna, 47, was arrested by security forces in February 2013, on the charge of supporting the opposition People's Mojahedin Of Iran, PMOI/MEK.

Kurdish political prisoner Zeinab Jalalian has started a therapy strike in Khoy Prison. In a letter to the General Prosecutor, Zeinab Jalalian’s lawyer wrote about his client’s refusal to accept any form of treatment. Amir Salar Davoudi expressed serious concerns about his client’s health and underlined the responsibility of Khoy Prison officials and Khoy’s security and judicial authorities in guaranteeing Ms. Jalalian’s physical and mental health. Mr. Davoudi declared, “My client’s therapy strike will continue until her demands are met.” Zeinab Jalalian was arrested in 2008 and regime's kangaroo court found Zeinab guilty and sentenced her to execution, on charges of being a member of the Party of Free Life of Kurdistan (PJAK). She was later condemned to life in prison. Zeinab Jalalian is loosing her eye sight due to torture.

Amnesty international issued an Urgent Action on May 9, calling for immediate hospitalization of Atena Daemi after 31 days of hunger strike. “Following 31 days of hunger strike in Tehran's Evin prison, Iranian human rights defender Atena Daemi is in poor health, and requires immediate hospitalization,” AI said. Atena Daemi began her hunger strike on April 8, 2017, in protest to the prison sentences that was issued for her sisters, Hanieh and Ensieh.

According to State-run Isna news agency May 8, Zahra Nemati, an Iranian archer who took part in the Rio 2016 Olympic, was banned from leaving the country by her husband. Her husband Roham Shahabipour syas: "After the Paralympic Games in Rio, Zahra Nemati has left home for some reason, and has even asked for divorce... After this incident, I banned her from traveling abroad so that she could not participate in any tournament".

Civil rights activist Leila Mir-Ghaffari was arrested by security forces on May 18, and transferred to an unknown location. There has been no news about her charges. Earlier, in 2015, she was arrested along with several other activists and transferred to Varamin's Qarchak prison for attending a protest, in front of Evin prison. In December of 2016, she was also summoned and interrogated for attending the anniversary of execution of Reyhaneh Jabbari, the young girl who was executed for defending her honour against her rapist who was an intelligent agent.

Two women, civil rights activists, Mahsa Roj'ati and Mehrak Karimpour Andalibi, are still detained in limbo in Ward 241 of Evin prison. Mahsa Roj'ati was arrested on Jan 2, at the airport as she was departing for Canada. She was arrested by the Ministry of Intelligence agents. Mehrak Karimpour Andalibi, 23, a student of industrial engineering, was arrested on December 27, 2016, at her home also by the Ministry of Intelligence agents.

Mahsa Roj'ati is lingering in solitary confinement of Evin Prison in dire physical conditions. She has suffered from nervous shocks, yet prison officials have refused to approve her transfer to hospital. And she remains deprived of receiving any medical care.

Mehrnaz Haghighi, a physician, was finally transferred to the women's ward of Evin Prison in Tehran after 70 days in custody.
She was arrested on Feb 19, by security forces at her home in Bandar Abbas (southern Iran) and taken to an unknown location. No details are available on her case or charges.

Associated Press reported May 13 that Cyber security officials in Britain have applauded a young researcher for helping halt the global ransomware cyber attack. In a post on its website, Britain's National Cyber Security Center said that by registering a domain name that unexpectedly stopped the spread of the malware, the anonymous Britain-based cyber specialist, known as Malware Tech, had prevented further infections and 'already resulted in preventing over 100,000 potential infections.' The researcher tweeted Saturday that he initially didn't know that his actions would stop the malware.
