Over 447,100 people have died of the novel coronavirus in 547 cities across Iran, according to reports tallied daily by the Iranian opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) as of Thursday, Oct. 3 2021.

Tehran’s Revolutionary Court summoned Ms. Mahboubeh Farahzadi to report by October 2, 2021. Mahboubeh Farahzadi is a teachers’ rights activist and a member of the Voice of Iranian Women Association (Neda-ye Zanan-e Iran). Security forces broke into Ms. Farahzadi’s home and arrested her on May 29, 2021. Branch 7 of the Prosecutor’s Interrogations Office of Evin arraigned her charges, set a 50million-Toman bail, and temporarily released her after a few hours. Evin’s 7th Branch of Interrogations has summoned Ms. Farahzadi twice, once on May 19 and again on September 30. The Iranian regime hanged 42-year-old Abbas-Qoli Salehi in Isfahan prison on Wednesday, September 29, after enduring 20 years in prison. On Tuesday night, Abbas-Qoli’s mother, along with a large number of people and youth in Isfahan who had been informed of his possible execution, gathered in front of the prison in protest and stood there until morning. On the same day, the Iranian regime executed 30-year-old Yasin Abdullahi in Zahedan Prison after serving nine years in prison.

Eight months have passed since political prisoner Golrokh Ebrahimi Iraee was sent to exile in the Prison of Amol in the northern Iranian province of Mazandaran. She is detained among ordinary prisoners and common criminals in violation of the separation of prisoners’ categories. Golrokh sent out a message from prison last July indicating that women are insulted and degraded by prison authorities. In the act of protest, she refused to make any phone calls or go for visitations. In her message, Mrs. Iraee said, “the detainees’ basic rights are offered to them as a privilege accompanied by insults and annoying tone.” Golrokh was arrested for a second time on November 9, 2019. She was arrested at home by ten male security forces and taken to an unknown location. Her crime is an unpublish book about stoning in Iran.
