Over 487,800 people have died of the novel coronavirus in 547 cities across Iran, according to reports tallied daily by the Iranian opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) as of Sunday Dec. 12.

With the three more women hanged in Kerman Prison, the number of women executed in Iran since 2013 reaches 127. Reliable reports from inside Iran say that the authorities of the Central Prison of Kerman hanged three women and three men on Thursday morning December 9, a day before the World Day of Human Rights. The three executed men were Gholam Barahouii, Saeed Dahmardeh, and Khaled Shahbakhsh. The identities of the three women have not been verified, yet. Khaled Shahbakhsh was serving his sentence of 25 years in prison, but his sentence was changed to death in retaliation for the deaths of some government agents in clashes with Baluch citizens. https://tinyurl.com/2p9fkmwp

The Bureau of Implementing Sentences of the 33rd District of Tehran’s Public and Revolutionary Court has summoned Ms. Parvin Mohammadi, a labor activist, to report in and serve her prison sentence of one year. The Free Union of Iranian Workers announced the news on December 7, 2021. Ms. Mohammadi is obliged to report to this branch within five days to serve her sentence. Parvin Mohammadi, a labor activist, is accused of disseminating “propaganda against the state” for speaking to a gathering of retired workers about their demands and giving an interview on the burning of the Plasco Building(2017). Parvin Mohammadi has been previously arrested and convicted for her peaceful activities in defense of workers’ rights. https://tinyurl.com/2p8hyw37

The 36th Branch of the Revision Court of Tehran Province upheld a 5-year prison sentence for a student activist and former political prisoner, Leila Hosseinzadeh. The 28th Branch of Tehran’s Revolutionary Court had earlier sentenced Leila Hosseinzadeh to five years in jail. The court further banned her from social media activities for two years. Amir Raisian, the lawyer of this student activist, wrote on his Twitter account that her verdict contravened the articles of the clerical regime’s punishment law. Leila Hosseinzadeh had held a small student gathering outside Tehran’s Sharif University of Technology to celebrate the birthday of Mohammad Sharifi Moghaddam, an imprisoned student Dervish.
