On Wednesday May 24, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), attended a meeting in the European Parliament to discuss the uprising in Iran, the new wave of executions, and the European Union’s responsibilities. The event, titled “Perspective of Change and European Union Policy,” was organized by the Friends of Free Iran Interparliamentary Group (FOFI). Mrs. Rajavi was welcomed by the European Parliament’s Vice Presidents, joint presidents, and vice presidents of the Friends of a Free Iran Committee (FOFI) as she called for their support for the Iranian people’s uprising and the organized Resistance movement. Numerous representatives from different political groups in the European Parliament and member states attended the conference. Farzaneh Zilabi, an attorney at law, has been handed a verdict by the 4th Branch of the Revolutionary Court in Ahvaz-Iran, resulting in a one-year and six-month prison sentence. The charges against Farzaneh Zilabi include “anti-regime propaganda” and “insulting the leadership.” 


Sara Nasseri, a 41-year-old resident of Mashhad, was arrested during the nationwide uprising on December 6, 2022, and after spending 20 days in the Intelligence Department’s detention center, she was transferred to Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad. Agents of the Intelligence Department of Piranshahr in Iran re-arrested Soada Khadirzadeh and her one-year-old daughter on Friday, May 19, only several hours after she left prison on temporary leave. Soada Khadirzadeh a Kurdish political prisoner was arrested by government forces in Piranshahr on October 14, 2021, and transferred to the Central Prison of Urmia on November 8, 2021. Soada Khadirazadeh is sentenced to 12 years and six months on charges of “assisting in the murder of a member of the Revolutionary Guards” and “membership in the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran.” https://tinyurl.com/kv4tzpwn

Labor activist prisoner Nasrin Javadi in Evin prison, has been deprived of proper medical care despite her physical condition. Nasrin Javadi is 65 years old and suffers from several diseases, including osteoporosis. Despite Mrs. Javadi’s repeated medical leave requests, the relevant authorities use various excuses to prevent her from being sent to the hospital. On Sunday, May 21, an Iranian Journalist, Vida Rabbani, was transferred from Evin prison to Tehran’s Taleghani hospital for much-needed medical treatment. Vida Rabbani is in need of an MRI test. Despite her deteriorating physical condition and the prison hospital’s recommendation for a CT scan and specialized examination, the relevant authorities staunchly opposed her transfer to an external medical facility. Eight medical students in Tabriz in Iran, have been sentenced to academic suspension and exile to the cities of Ahvaz, Semnan, Kashan, Urmia, and Ardabil.
