On Saturday, March 8, thousands of Iranian Americans and supporters gathered in Washington DC to commemorate International Women’s Day and demonstrate solidarity with the Iranian Resistance against clerical dictatorship. Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), delivered a passionate keynote address, emphasizing the critical role of women in the fight for freedom. “Women are the force for change,” Mrs. Rajavi said. “The liberation of women is the prerequisite for the liberation of men. And the overthrow of the Velayat-e Faqih regime will be achieved through women’s leadership.” The NCRI President-elect described Iran’s regime as one “that wages an unrelenting war on its people using organized violence,” advocating for “organized resistance and uprising” as the only solution. “Today, Khamenei is drawing battle lines against the Iranian people through relentless executions. On Saturday, March 1, seven prisoners, including a woman named Asieh Ghavi-Cheshm, were executed in Mashhad Central Prison (Vakilabad). Asieh Ghavi-Cheshm, a 45-year-old mother of two from the village of Khalghabad in Mashhad, had been arrested on drug-related charges and sentenced to death. As of the time of this report, prison authorities and relevant institutions have not officially announced these executions. Asieh Ghavi-Cheshm is the fourth woman to be executed in Iran in 2025. Fatima Soleimani, a 12-year-old girl from Harsin, a city in the Kermanshah province in Iran, ended her life by hanging herself after being subjected to severe pressure from her family to enter a forced marriage. Her father had coerced her into marrying a relative, and when she resisted, he responded with brutal physical and verbal abuse, even threatening to kill her. 7 woman between Feb. 16-27 of 2025, fell victims in death in the hands of their male relatives in different cities in Iran. Najibeh Hassan -khani 40, was killed in Tehran by her husband. Donya Hosseini 23, was killed by her father in Kermanshah. 2 women whose identities are not yet known in Feb. 20 and 21 in Qazvin and Gorgan by their husbands. Arezou Kami, a mother of 2, was stabbed by her husbnad and Delara Jahandideh 38, was beaten to death by a wooden mallet in Jahorm. Arezoo Jalilzadeh, a teacher from Sardasht, a city in West Azerbaijan province in Iran, was arrested by security forces and transferred to an undisclosed detention center in Urmia without a judicial warrant. Four days after Arezou's arrest on Monday, March 3, her family remains completely in the dark regarding her whereabouts and condition. Mina Soltani Zare', the justice-seeking mother of Shahriar Mohammadi 29, one of the victims of the 2022 nationwide protests in Iran, has been sentenced to eight months in prison and a monetary fine by the Iranian judiciary. The verdict issued by Branch 101 of the Criminal Court 2 of Bukan convicts Mina Soltani on charges of “propaganda against the state” and “appearing in public without hijab”, resulting in a sentence of eight months in prison and a fine of one million tomans. https://tinyurl.com/46k55tyz
