Iraqi forces attacked Ashraf Camp

Iraqi forces stormed Ashraf Camp a settlement of Iranian exiles in the early hours of Friday April 8, 2011. To date 33 people have been killed, 8 of them women. Iraqi Lt. Gen. Ali Ghaidan confirmed the offensive early Friday morning at the Camp Ashraf compound in northeastern Diyala province but denied anyone was killed. He says there were people injured but did not know how many. The residents of Ashraf were shot at with live ammunition and some were attacked by Hamvy vehicles. The Iraqi forces werer hitting them wtih their vehicles. The lack of medical equipment in Ashraf due to limitations by the Iraqi government is said to increase the number of death in Ashraf. Saba Haftbaradaran died last night as a result of this.
