Five days after Iran quake people suffering from shortage of food, shelter
A week after the devastating earthquakes in Iran’s northwestern provinces, the people of those regions are worried over lack of shelter, food and threats of the spread of epidemic diseases. In the meantime, the mullahs’ Majlis (parliament) speaker delivered a secret report to the members in order to cover up the vast amount of destruction and the actual number of casualties.
“Damages in the earthquake hit areas are very high. In some rural areas we witnessed that 100% of the homes were destroyed. Currently, the people are facing problems such as the lack of hygiene services and supervision,” Ali Larijani said during his visit to the earthquake stricken areas.
“The important issue that we are now facing is livestock in the villages that remain under the rubble, dead or alive, and a humanitarian catastrophe will take place if urgent action is not taken,” Majlis member Dolatgari said.
“There is no trace of the dispatched physicians and psychologists which the Madame Minister had promised,” said Dehghani, Majlis member from the earthquake hit city of
Varzaghan
. “The trend of treating people is proceeding with much difficulty and the injured are facing serious problems in this regard.”
Furthermore, state-run media reported the people of
Tabriz
spent Tuesday night in parks in fear of the aftershock that struck the area that evening. They were not willing to return to their homes.
“To this moment 720 aftershocks have shaken
East Azerbaijan Province, 257 of which were above 2.5 Richter and 27 above 4 Richter,” said the Iranian regime's Crisis Management chief.


Four Azerbaijani humanists arrested in Iran

Four Azerbaijani activists, collecting humanitarian aid for the quake-affected people in East Azerbaijan province of Iran, were arrested.
According to reports they were collecting humanitarian aid from the population of Urmiya city and were detained on their way to quake-affected Varzigan on August 15. it’s unknown where they are kept.





Iran exiles say will move group to new Iraq site

According to Associated France  press report an Iranian opposition organization said on Saturday it is ready to move another group of its Iraq-based members to a new site near Baghdad after a delay which has dragged on for several months. “As a gesture of goodwill, the residents of Ashraf will commence the 6th convoy of 400 residents from Camp Ashraf to Camp Liberty on August 23,” Maryam Rajavi, president elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran said in a statement. In return, Rajavi said she expects Washington to renew “its commitments to the approach to delisting” the PMOI as a terrorist group, resolving “humanitarian issues” at the new site and ensuring “the safety and security” of its residents.
