35th anniversary of Iran's 1979 revolution

     Iran's 1979 Anti-monarchy revolution

Today is the 35th anniversary of 1979 Iranian anti-monarchy revolution. It is true that the 1979 revolution was diverted from its path but it has left a significant effects not only in Iran, but elsewhere in the region. While the Iranian people struggle against the current regime for freedom and democracy, we celebrate the generation before us for their achievements. As Martin Luther King Jr. said: Freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor; it must be demanded by the oppressed. And the Iranian people who have been oppressed for 35 years will embrace freedom.
