During 2019 Canada's Federal campaign Anderw Scheer leader of
the PC party promised to designate the IRGC Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist entity. He told reporters that: we will target the Iranian regime who routinely violates human rights, kills Canadian citizens, supports Terrorism and violates nuclear treaties. He called on Ottawa to base on criminal code of Canada, list IRGC immediately. In the summer of 2018 the Federal Parliament passed a motion to designate IRGC as a terrorist entity but the government till now evades this issue. In another news on Wed. Oct. 2, the Al Arabya Farsi issued a news that Canada has listed IRGC, but a reputable source told Radio Irava that it wasn't true. The assumption in the community is that this is an election trick to lour supporters of the PC towards the Liberals. Canadians will go to polls on Monday Oct. 21 to cast their ballets.

The angry residents of Chenar-Mahmoudi village in Lordegan county held a protest gathering outside the Department of Health and Medical Care in Lordegan on Saturday, October 5. Chenar Mahmoudi villages is located in Lordegan County in Charmahal Bakhtiari Province, in southwestern Iran. Lordegan’s youths also blocked the Lordegan-Khuzestan road. The State Security forces attacked and brutalized the protesters to prevent expansion of the protest. They fired shots in the air to disperse the furious crowd. One of the protesters said, “The attack by security forces is horrible and we need help.” The clashes and protests come, in the wake of infection of more than 300 of the village residents with HIV/AIDS virus, including women, children and even infants. It is said that agents of the House of Health used the same disposable syringe multiple times while taking diabetes test from the residents, causing spread of this virus.

Tehran saw extensive protests by Iranian teachers and educators on the World Teachers’ Day, Saturday, October 5. Most of the protesters were women. Iranian teachers and educators gathered outside the Department of Education in Tehran to demand their rights. Women teachers and educators held up flyers which read, “A teacher’s place is not in prison”, “poverty line= 7 million (tomans), a teacher’s salary= 2 million (tomans)”, “stop privatization of schools”, and “adequate housing for pensioners.”

Iranian state media reported that the Criminal Court of Gorgan issued flogging sentences for 20 people, including eight women, for attending a private mixed-gender yoga class. The participants in this class were arrested in June on charges of “acting against chastity” and are going to receive 50 lashes, each. (The state-run ROKNA news agency – September 30, 2019)
Massoudi Farid, a deputy to the national welfare organization, also announced that if they receive any report on kindergartens’ having mixed-gender pools for preschool children, the kindergarten would be rapidly dealt with and prosecuted. (The state-run Fars news agency – September 28, 2019)

- Abbas Shahi, Chief of Police in the Province of Alboz-Iran, announced that his forces had warned 144 clothing stores against sealing and verbally warned another 137 businesses and shops. (The state-run ROKNA news agency – September 28, 2019)

- Heydar Abbaszadeh, commander of the State Security Force of Khuzestan, also reported on the six-month conduct of his forces, saying, “The State Security Force (of Khuzestan) has dealt with 5,000 cases of improperly veiling, 97 percent of which involved removal of the veil inside cars in Ahvaz.” (The state-run ISNA news agency – October 3, 2019)

- Abdollah Hassani, commander of the State Security Force of Semnan, explained that dealing with women who are improperly veiled is carried out in three stages. The first stage is giving verbal warning, the second stage is obtaining written commitments, and the third stage involves filing legal cases against the accused. Hassani said the first stage of the plan has been enforced with the help of 1,100 plainclothes agents who have so far dealt with 4,200 offenders across the province.
