The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK) announced this afternoon, October 18, that Coronavirus has taken the lives of more than 126,300 in 458 cities across Iran. The government still blames people and not their own mismanagement.

The Iranian regime executed yet another woman in the Central Prison of Sanandaj named Zeinab Khodamoradi-33- after she served five years on the death row on October 18, 2020. The number of women executed during Rouhani’s tenure thus reaches 110. Execution of women in Iran is the highest in the world. At least seven women have been executed in Iran since January 2020. Zeinab Khodamoradi is the second woman to be executed in October. A single woman head of household by the name of Razieh was executed on October 11, in the Central Prison of Mashhad.

Political prisoner Nejat Anvar Hamidi faces an additional 15 years in prison after a new case filed against her by the Intelligence Ministry. The new file does not contain any new charges compared to her first case for which she is serving 5 years. Nejat Anvar Hamidi and her husband have been recently sentenced to another 15 years in prison, each. They are charged with membership in the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran and disseminating propaganda against the state by Branch 4 of the Justice Department of Ahvaz. 150 female prisoners in Tabriz are in danger of contracting Shingles. Many female prisoners in the Central Prison of Tabriz have already contracted the Coronavirus as well. According to reports from the Central Prison of Tabriz, obtained by the Women's committee of the Iranian resistance, one of the female inmates has so far become sick with Shingles. At least nine female prisoners in Tabriz have became ill with COVID-19 in the last week of September. Political prisoner Massoumeh Senobari is among the infected prisoners. The absence of essential healthcare and the prison authorities’ refusal to quarantine the sick, have led to the increase in the number of those infected. https://tinyurl.com/y4enheze

Two weeks past injury to her ankle, political prisoner Saba Kord Afshari has not yet received proper medical care and treatment in Evin Prison. She hurt her ankle two weeks ago. On Wednesday, October 14, she personally opened her cast, as she was no longer able to walk without a cane. But she saw that her ankle is badly swollen and bruised. Political prisoner Saba Kord Afshari also suffers from various GI complications as well as stomach ulcer. Saba was sentenced to 24 years of imprisonment for protesting mandatory veil-Hijab.


 Kurdish researcher and writer Mojgan Kavousi also refused to be operated on at Tehran’s Taleghani hospital because the hospital is filled with COVID-19 patients. The Kurdish author is sentenced to 6 years and three months’ imprisonment. https://tinyurl.com/y5zvtye6
