Political prisoner Forough Taghipour was not sent to the hospital on August 30, 2022, as she opposed being hand and foot cuffed during her transfer. Political prisoner Forough Taghipour was supposed to be sent to the hospital due to her poor physical and GI condition. But she disagreed with being handcuffed and shackled. For this reason, the Evin prison authorities wasted several hours during which they harassed her, finally preventing her from going to the hospital and returning her to the prison ward. Political prisoner Maryam Akbari Monfared is deprived of visitations for three months after protesting pressure on her daughters to wear the mandatory Hijab, or the Chador when visiting their mother on Aug. 24 in Semnan prison in Iran. Kordi, the Deputy Warden of Semnan Prison, disrespectfully rejected visitation for Maryam’s two daughters. He refused them the right to visit their mother, as they were not wearing a Chador. Kordi also intended to return political prisoner Maryam Akbari Monfared to her ward. Hosseinipour, Chief of the Visitation Hall, attacked Mrs. Akbari, grabbed her by the throat, and pressed to strangle her. As a result of the beating, Mrs. Akbari suffered bruises on the neck and arms. Finally, given Maryam’s strong resistance to being returned to her ward, Kordi allowed Maryam to visit with her two daughters. Mrs. Akbari Monfared also faces new charges against her after serving 13 years in prison. The Revolutionary Court of Semnan will examine this case on September 18, on behalf of Tehran. Maryam Akbari Monfared’s family and lawyer are still unaware of the case’s contents.

On August 30, Semnan Prison authorities informed her that she would be deprived of visitations for three months. Political prisoner Maryam Akbari Monfared is already deprived of making ordinary phone calls to her family like other prisoners. Political prisoner Samaneh Saeedi is detained, unable to walk and deprived of medical care in Evin Prison in Iran is in dreadful physical condition. Samaneh 39, has been sentenced to 5 years in prison since 2020. Unable to endure prison conditions, Samaneh has been held under a torturous situation. The Revolutionary Guards Corps Intelligence prevents Samaneh’s release and medical leave. She is a human rights activist from Mazandaran in north Iran. An informed source said she was severely tortured during interrogation in Ward A1 and has since lost her walking capability. This political prisoner now moves with the help of a walker or a wheelchair.

Leila Hosseinzadeh was arrested in Tehran on August 20. The Hosseinzadeh family is most concerned about their daughter’s health as she has an incurable illness. Because of her illness, which rendered her incapable of enduring prison conditions, she was released from prison in spring 2020. This is the second time this year the Intelligence Ministry agents violently arrest Leila regardless of her illness. Prison stress deteriorates Leila’s health. Her family are concerned as Leila has no access to her vital medicines either. Reza Bahmani, the nursing director at the vice treatment division in Zanjan University of Medical Sciences, announced the dismissal of 180 nurses from the university system in this province in northwest Iran. Bahmani announced that "all nurses must take on the mandatory nurses’ plan for 2 years." Subsequently, a voluntary 2-year extension plan and a 2-year special COVID-19 plan were proposed for the nurses. Therefore, some nurses tended to enroll and be engaged in this project for 4 years.
