Nationwide protests in the wake of Mahsa Amini’s death in police custody continued for the 15th consecutive day on Friday, September 30, 2022. The protests have spread to 164 cities in all 31 provinces. On Friday, September 30, protests were intensely in effect in at least nine major capitals in Iran despite the brutal crackdown on protesters and an internet shutdown. According to NCRI, National Council of Resistance of Iran Sept. 30th, At the start of the third week of the nationwide uprising in Iran, many people in Zahedan, Ahvaz, Mashhad, Ardabil, Kermanshah, and several other cities took to the streets and confronted the suppressive forces. In Zahedan, people protested, chanting, “Death to Khamenei.” The suppressive forces opened fire and many people were killed or injured. Demonstrations and clashes between rebellious youths and suppressive forces continue in different parts of the city, and the sound of gunfire can be heard. The Revolutionary Guard’s helicopters have been flying over the city to control the situation.

Simultaneously, many people in Ahvaz protested, chanting, “Death to Khamenei,” “Have no fear, we're all together,” and resisted the IRGC’s attack and tear gas.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of NCRI, hailed the brave people of Zahedan, Ahvaz, Ardabil, Mashhad, Kermanshah, and other cities which rose at the beginning of the third week of the nationwide uprising. Paying homage to the Baluch compatriots martyred at the hands of the IRGC, she called on all youth to come to the help of the people. She urged the United Nations and member states to take immediate action to prevent protesters’ killing and recognize the Iranian people’s right to defend themselves and confront this brutal regime.
