IRAN NEWS))))))

On Friday Oct. 7 the Prime Minister Honorable Justin Trudeau and Minister of Finance and PM Deputy announced: we are listing the Iranian regime and banning more than 10,000 senior members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps IRGC from doing business or ever setting foot in Canada.

Trudeau said: Canada has some of the toughest measures – of any country in the world – when it comes to Iran. Today, we are taking even more action and going even further. Here’s what we’re doing to hold the Iranian regime accountable for its horrific actions.

In addition, we’ll strengthen Canada’s overall capacity to implement sanctions - so we can move more quickly to freeze and seize sanctioned individuals’ assets. We’ll also support the establishment of a new sanctions bureau in Global Affairs Canada and increase RCMP capacity. These are some of the most powerful tools at our disposal, and we’re using them to crack down on the Iranian regime and the thousands of individuals responsible for its heinous behavior.

Sunday marked the 24th day of protests spreading throughout Iran as regime authorities scrambled their security forces in desperate measures to contain an uprising that more and more Iranians are describing as a “revolution”. Many cities across the country saw people take to the streets at around noon, with protesters escalating their measures in response to the regime’s deadly crackdown. Sunday’s protests began with demonstrations by students in several cities across the country. In Tehran, the students of Allameh Tabataba’i University held strikes at the campus. At the Tarbiat Modares University, students were chanting, “We will be here every day.” In Qazvin, the students of Islamic Azad University were chanting, “Freedom! Freedom! Freedom!” A very large protest rally was held at Amir Kabir University. At Arak University, students held a large protest rally and chanted anti-regime slogans, including “No fear! We are all together!” The students of Gilan University also held a large rally. https://tinyurl.com/yc3yyn6s
