Iran’s nationwide uprising marked its 157th day on Sunday Feb. 19. The uprising has spread in 282 cities across Iran with 750 people dead and 30,000 detainees. The names and identities of 637 people killed by the regime have been announced by the Iranian opposition PMOI/MEK, People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran.

On February 17, simultaneously with the Munich Security Conference, thousands of freedom-loving Iranians and supporters of the Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK) and its parent coalition, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), gathered at the Max-Jozef-Platz, near the Munich security conference. Protestors, along with renowned European politicians and lawyers, condemned the presence of Reza Pahlavi, the son of the ousted Shah, who represents the return of monarchial tyranny. Iranians underlined in their protest on Friday that Reza Pahlavi’s presence at the Munich Security Conference was an insult to the people’s will and determination to achieve a democratic and secular Iran. Political prisoner Yalda Emamdoust, a marathon runner and champion in Isfahan, has been imprisoned in Dowlat Abad prison for four years and is under torture and excruciating pressure. The agents of the Intelligence Ministry have used Mrs. Emamdoust’s husband, a member of the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC), as a lever of pressure and torture against her. Yalda Emamdoust, a marathon runner and champion in Isfahan, has suffered from skin and nervous diseases due to psychological pressure and endures difficult conditions. Political prisoner Yalda Emamdoust, a marathon runner and champion in Isfahan, is 49 years old, born in Ilam, and a mother of two children. She was arrested once in 2019 for writing anti-regime graffiti on walls and spent several months in prison. She was arrested and tortured once again on May 31, 2020. After 3 months of silence, Mina Yaqhoubi Bodybuilding coach, released a video clip on February 15, and announced that according to the decree issued by the Revolutionary Court, she was sentenced to 8 years of imprisonment and two years of being banned from staying in the city of her residence. She was also sentenced by the criminal court to 3 years in prison, enduring 85 lashes and 124 hours of washing graves. She said the reason for her three-month silence was that her lawyer had objected to the court ruling, and they hoped to cut down on the punishment. Mina Yaghoubi was released on bail at 3 a.m. on December 1, 2022 when Dark bruises around her eye showed that she had been viciously tortured while in detention.
The security forces arrested Kobra Huti at her home and took her to an unknown place on February 8. Kobra 22, is from Qasr-e Qand. She graduated in Industrial Engineering from the Mines Industrial University of Khash.
Jairan Nik Peyman Motlaq was arrested in Tehran on September 29, 2022, during the nationwide uprising. She was a Ph.D. student of animal physiology at Damghan University. She was also a writer and women’s rights and animal rights activist. Jairan was taken to the Intelligence Ministry Ward 209 of Evin Prison, and after two weeks, she was transferred to Qarchak Prison.
Parisa Parvaneh, 19, a member of the Iranian Astronomy Association, was arrested in Mashhad on Nov. 15. The security forces then threatened Parvaneh’s family not to publicize the news of Parisa’s arrest so that she would be released, but there is no news of her release. http://surl.li/exkki

11 Baha’i citizens in Alborz province, Iran, have been sentenced to 36 years in prison and various restrictions on their rights and activities by the Revolutionary Court of Karaj. Afif Naimi, Mahsa Tirgar, Kamyar Habibi, Rameleh Tirgarnejad, Sabin Yazdani, Elham Sharqi Arani, Nakisa Sadeghi, Sadaf Sheikhzadeh, Shahrzad Mastouri, Negin Rezaeii, and Saman Ostovar, are accused of “insulting the Sharia of Islam and doing educational and propaganda activities against it, participating in the formation of groups, managing individuals to disrupt the country’s security by promoting Baha’ism among children and adolescents, educational and promotional activities contrary to the Sharia of Islam through education and promotion based on Baha’i teachings in kindergartens, propaganda against the Sharia of Islam through coaching education.”
Another Baha’i citizen, Elmira Rahmani, a resident of Isfahan, is facing charges of spreading propaganda against the regime, inciting people to fight and kill each other to disrupt the country’s security by inciting others. She was arrested on January 16 and is still under interrogation and does not have access to her chosen lawyer. Mrs. Rahmani has a background in music performance in the Isfahan National Orchestra and the Isfahan Philharmonic Orchestra.
In a separate case, Fariba Kamalabadi, a former member of the board of directors of the Iranian Baha’i community, was sentenced to 10 years in prison in an hour-long court session without a lawyer. The Baha’i International Community has stated that the larger portion of the hearing was spent on the judge insulting and humiliating Mrs. Kamalabadi. Fariba was arrested on July 31, 2022, and transferred to Evin prison. http://surl.li/exkkq
