On Wednesday, February 22, the Iranian regime secretly hanged political prisoner Sarkut Ahmadi from Ravansar, who had been in the Dizelabad prison of Kermanshah for the past two years. Mr. Ahmadi, 29, was sentenced to death in January 2021 for the death of a State Security Force Major Hassan Melki. In another news on Monday, February 20, the political prisoner Hassan Abyat was hanged in Sepidar prison of Ahvaz on charges of “waging war on God and corruption on earth”.******
Fariba Hosseini and an Afghan woman named Nazifeh are the latest victims of the execution of women in Iran in Fardis Karaj Prison. Fariba Hosseini, the mother of two children, was hanged on Feb. 14 after 6 years of imprisonment. Nazife, who was imprisoned in Fardis prison for murdering her husband and has two children, was executed in the middle of January of this year.******
Negar Davoudi, a software student at Ilam University, has been sentenced to two years in prison and additional punishments by the Court of Appeals of Ilam Province in Iran. Davoudi was initially convicted by the Revolutionary Court of Ilam on December 19, 2022, on charges of assembly and collusion with the intention of acting against national security. The appeal court’s decision imposes a two-year prison sentence, a two-year ban on leaving the country, one year of free work for the welfare department, and 200 hours of participation in Quranic teaching and interpretation classes.Labor activist Reyhaneh Ansari Nejad has been summoned to the 2nd Investigation Branch of the General and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office of the 33rd District of Tehran, Evin Prison in Iran. Reyhaneh was arrested on May 12, 2022, during a raid by Ministry of Intelligence agents on her home. She was detained for almost three months, including in solitary confinement, in Ward 209 of Evin Prison and was released on August 6, 2022, on a bail of 1.5 billion tomans.
The interrogation session of attorney Fereshteh Tabanian was held on February 20, in the General and Revolutionary Court of Ahvaz-Iran. Tabanian defended herself against accusations of propaganda activity against the state, publication of falsities, assembly and collusion, membership in hostile groups, and insulting the leadership.
