Iran’s nationwide uprising marked its 171 day on Sunday March 5, as protests in many cities are escalating following a growing number of gas attacks targeting mostly all-girls schools in Tehran and other cities. At least 58 schools in 10 cities across the country have been targeted in a string of mysterious gas attacks, leaving hundreds of schoolgirls poisoned and sent to medical centers to receive aid. It's been said that the Iranian regime is retaliating against female students for uprising led by women.

Leila Bameri, mother of 2 young kids 5 and 7, was executed Monday in prison in Bandar Abbas, southern Iran. She was charged with drug trafficking and had been jailed for three years. Leila was executed on Monday, February 27, without having a final visit with her family and children. Her family was informed on the phone only after the execution. 2 other women whose names have not been published were executed in Birjand south Khorasan province in Iran. Anahita Ramezanian, a participant in the 2022 Iran protests, has been sentenced to 7 months of imprisonment and 40 lashes. The verdict was announced by the branch of Yasuj Criminal Court 2, which charged her with “disturbing public order and comfort and encouraging people to hold gatherings.” Anahita was arrested on October 2, 2022, during the rally in the main square of Yasuj city and spent 25 days in detention before being released on bail. In addition, she was also sentenced to one year in prison by Yasuj Criminal Court 2 for participating in the November 2019 protests. 

Farzaneh Zilabi, a lawyer and member of the League of Lawyers, has been summoned by the 13th branch of the Ahvaz Revolutionary Court. Farzaneh Zilabi faces accusations of insulting the leadership, publishing falsehoods in cyberspace, propaganda activity against the state, assembly, and collusion against security, and membership in hostile groups.

Zeinab Rahimi, an environment reporter, was summoned to the Media and Computer Prosecutor’s Office on February 22, on the charge of “slander and publication of lies.” Rahimi used to work with State-run ISNA news agency and was fired in 2020 for publishing content on Twitter. http://surl.li/fejii

Political prisoner Soheila Mohammadi 30, is in serious condition after she committed suicide in protest of being denied the right to use leave on Feb. 21. Amid the Iranian regime’s propaganda about releasing political prisoners, the clerical regime’s prisons are packed with political prisoners. Ms. Mohammadi’s health condition is unstable, and she is in danger due to the injury caused by the stab wound to the left chest area. Political prisoner Soheila Mohammadi, from Salmas, was arrested by IRGC intelligence in the fall of 2020 and sentenced to 5 years in prison on charges of membership in the Hayat Azad Kurdistan Party (PJAK) by the 1st Branch of the Revolutionary Court of Urmia. http://surl.li/fejjl
