The Ministry of Intelligence arrested family members of political prisoners

On October 18, 2012, Human rights and democracy activists reported that the Iranian regime Ministry of Intelligence’s forces arrested a number of the youths and family members of political prisoners including Babak Saran, son of Amir Hossein Heshmat Saran and 3 other, Mehdi Samadi, Hooman Armandi and Vahid Barghi, and transferred them to Evin Prison.
The reports also indicated that Negar Haeri, the daughter of political prisoner Mashallah Haeri was arrested by the ministry of intelligence’s henchmen and transferred to Evin. Mashallah Haeri was arrested while in hospital for visiting his relatives in Camp Ashraf in Iraq. He's been sentenced to 15 years imprisonment. Another political prisoner Ali Moezzi has transferred to solitary cell of section 240 of the Evin prison for refusing to take part in a trial presided by Salavati. Ali Moezzi is 63, years old and is one of the political prisoners of the 80s in Iran. He was arrested in November 2009, just for visiting his two children in Camp Ashraf and sentenced to two years in prison. In June 2011, after a surgery, he was rearrested on the charge of participating in the funeral of Mohsen Dokmehchi, a MEK member who was tortured killed by refusing him medical treatment. Ali Moezzi suffers from cancer, kidney disease, and severe arthritis but he is refused any medical treatment.

 

 

EP should avoid this visit and not allow its prestige and credit to be distorted

As the planned trip of 5 European parliamentarians to Iran became public the Iranian Resistance condemned it and asks EP president to prevent their visit and not to allow them to distort EP’s prestige and credit by supporting the most ruthless contemporary dictatorship.
The motivation behind such a visit is neither a delusion about the mullahs’ regime’s capacity to become moderate, nor even due to appeasement policy in general, but before anything else, the incentive is certain personal, party, or business interests aimed at painting a pretty picture of religious fascism that in addition to killing Iranian people, is deeply involved in massacre of people in Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and Palestine, and is doing its outmost to achieve nuclear bomb.

The NCRI added in its statement Oct. 19 that through such visits, these individuals and their behind-the-scene circles vainly attempt to prevent definite overthrow of this regime on which they have made immense economic and political investments.
This visit is being made at a time that only few days after the widespread demonstration of Bazaar merchants and people in Tehran chanting “Death to dictator”, and while gallows continue to be prepared in prisons and in every city for collective executions of prisoners aimed to intensify atmosphere of intimidation in the society.

On the other hand the Iranians active on Twitter started a Tweet Strom with the Hashtag: #stoptrip" on Oct. 19 which will continue until Oct. 31, daily at 3pm Eastern time or Washington time to oppose the EU delegations trip to Iran.

Iranian Resistance welcomed exclusion of the Iranian regime’s TV networks by a number of satellite-service companies and called for the termination of all TV programs of the Iranian regime by all satellite-service providers. More than 40 different radio and television programms has been terminated so far. This unprecedented step has furiated the Iranian regime. The mullahs who are taking satellite dishes off people's roofs on a daily basis, is talking about its freedom of speech being violated.
Clerical regime’s propaganda apparatus and radio and TV networks are not tools for dissemination of information; they are rather part of regime’s machine of terror and oppression and function as tools for dissemination of false information and for misleading public opinion away from the truth and a means of paving the way for internal oppression and export of terrorism and fundamentalism.
Using jamming signals, the Iranian regime has resorted to disrupting programs mainly of PMOI or MEK radio since 1981, and programs of Iranian Resistance television from 18 years ago so. According to published information, in addition to sending powerful jamming signals on Farsi speaking networks from inside Iran, part of the jamming is carried out from Syrian territory.
Iranian regime’s authorities, including IRGC member Zarghami who is the head of regime’s radio and television organ and who is on the EU sanctions list, has admitted to sending jamming signals on satellite programs abroad.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the Iranian Resistance has welcomed the European Union’s decision to expand sanctions against the Iranian regime as an essential step to preclude this regime from acquiring nuclear weapons, and asked for cutting all economic and commercial relations with that regime.
She underlined the fact that Iran’s imports and exports are predominantly controlled by the IRGC, and hence the EU’s economic relations with Iran practically contribute to suppressing people, nuclear projects, and the massacre of Syrian people by the IRGC.
Mrs. Rajavi pointed out that obtaining nuclear weapons is part of the religious dictatorship’s strategy for survival, which it will never abandon. Therefore, although comprehensive sanctions are an essential and indispensible element to stop the regime’s nuclear weapons project, the ultimate and definitive solution for the world community to rid itself of the mullahs’ attempt to acquire nuclear weapons is a regime change by the Iranian people and Resistance. Thus, recognizing the Iranian people’s efforts to overthrow religious fascism and to establish democracy in Iran is more essential than ever.
