As the Iranian regime holds a formality court for a civilian airplane shot down by the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) in January 2020, the families of the victims of the plane crash held a protest rally in front of the court, chanting Down with Khamenei and Down with IRGC(Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corp). The heavy presence of security forces did not intimidate the protesters, who have been vocally calling for justice for their loved ones for nearly two years. The protesters described the court as a “shameful show” that is only putting ten low-ranking officers on trial. The real perpetrators of this crime are senior regime officials that create the grounds for this disaster to happen. https://tinyurl.com/yjk8vhy9

Tens of thousands of people joined the farmers of Isfahan on the 12th day of a sit-in protest on Friday, November 19, 2021. The farmers have been demanding their water share from the clerical regime. The mullahs’ mismanagement of Iran’s rivers and water has led to the destruction of agriculture and livestock. Isfahan’s situation is particularly drastic where the watery Zayanderud river has dried up. Zayanderud used to be the largest river on the Iranian plateau. The protesters covered a large area of the Zayanderud River bed. Thousands of women were among the protesters. They stridently chanted among others, “Guns, tanks (are useless), Mullahs must get lost,” “Neither Gaza nor Lebanon, my life only for Iran,” “If the water does not flow, Isfahan will rise,” “Our enemy is right here, they lie it’s America,” “Beware of call by farmers to rebellion.” https://tinyurl.com/wtbnhhzm

According to the Women's committee of the Iranian resistance, the Third Committee of the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution on Wednesday, November 17, condemning the flagrant and systematic rights abuses in Iran. This is the 68th such resolution to be adopted by UN General assembly regarding violations of human rights in Iran. Canada has been the force behind such resolutions. The Third Committee of the UN General Assembly cited the alarmingly high number of death sentences, the widespread and systematic arrests and arbitrary detentions, deliberate denial of access to medical treatment and services to prisoners, the appalling mistreatment of inmates in Evin Prison, harassment and intimidation of political dissidents and human rights defenders, including their kidnapping, apprehension and executions, the arbitrary arrests and detention, torture, and other cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment and punishment of protesters, making use of torture to extract confessions, and cases of suspicious deaths in prison. Maryam Rajvai the president elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran said that the leaders of the clerical regime, including Ali Khamenei, Ebrahim Raisi, and Gholam-Hossain Mohseni Ejeii, must be prosecuted by international tribunals. The international community must reject this regime and end the impunity of its criminal rulers. The dossier of the clerical regime’s four decades of crime against humanity and genocide, particularly the massacre of 30,000 political prisoners in 1988 and the massacre of 1,500 protesters in 2019, must be referred to the UN Security Council, she added. https://tinyurl.com/d994xnp6

The United Nations human rights experts said the "Population growth plan" adopted by the Iranian regime in early November was in "clear contravention of international law." The rights experts called on the Iranian regime to repeal the new law that “severely restricts access to abortion, contraception, voluntary sterilization services and related information, in direct violation of women’s human rights under international law.” The statement by UN human rights experts on November 16, 2021 reads as such: The new law also contains a vaguely formulated provision in article 61, which states that if carried out on a large scale, abortion would fall under the crime of "corruption on earth" and would carry the death penalty. "It is shocking to see the extent to which the authorities have applied criminal law to restrict women’s fundamental rights," the experts said. https://tinyurl.com/e7xjme5k
