On Thursday, May 5, project workers in the oil, gas, petrochemical, steel, power plants, and copper mines industries continued their strike for the 14th day. The strike has affected at least 113 workshops and industrial companies in 38 cities across 13 provinces in Iran. Instead of addressing the workers’ demands, the Iranian regime responded by intensifying anti-labor policies and taking action to suppress the strike. Contractors who supported the workers were arrested, and workers were fired or dismissed.

Despite the serial poisoning of school girls in Iran, the regime officials continue to deny that any poisoning is taking place. Iran once again witnessed attacks on Wednesday, May 3, chemical attacks on girls’ school Sanandaj, on May 2, in Baneh and Kermanshah, and many other schools were targets of chemical attacks. Five female political prisoners, Fatemeh Ziaii Azad (Hoorieh), Elaheh Mohammadi, Niloufar Hamedi, Soha Mortezaii, and Zohreh Sarv were transferred from Qarchak Prison to the Evin Prison on Monday, May 1, 2023.
