On Tuesday June 20th on the International Day of Refugees, 1200 Albanian Police with 150 vehicles attacked Camp Ashraf in Tirana where the members of the Iranian resistance PMOI/MEK reside. During the attack, Mr. Ali Mostashari was killed and more than 100 residents were injured and a number of them were hospitalized. This attacks comes only days after the French authorities cancelled the Iranian resistance's rally in Paris which is scheduled for July 1, 2023. The organizers and the Iranian resistance are pursuing legal path to overturn this anti democratic intention. The wave of support has been pouring in for the residents of Ashraf-3 in Albania, from American, Canadian, European and Iranian political and personalities and groups. Iranian supporters of the MEK have staged sit-ins and demonstrations in front of Albanian Embassies world wide. In Ottawa, Iranian Canadian supporters, gathered in front of Albanian Embassy on Tuesday calling for that government to respect International human laws. The former Prime Ministers, Presidents and a number of Albanian current MPs are among those who have condemned police attack on Ashraf-3.

On Thursday, June 22nd a conference in Paris, France, witnessed the presence of several former heads of state who came together to announce the support of 117 former world leaders for the Iranian people’s uprising and their organized Resistance. The keynote speaker at this event was Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI). 

In their letter to US President Joe Biden, and the leaders of the 27 Member States of the European Union, the former world leaders emphasized their belief that the future of Iran should be determined by the Iranian people themselves. They also recognized that for the past four decades, the democratic coalition National Council of Resistance of Iran has consistently and tirelessly pursued democratic change. In this regard, they expressed their support for the Ten-Point Plan presented by Maryam Rajavi. They underlined that the plan’s dedication to principles such as free elections, freedom of assembly and expression, abolition of the death penalty, gender equality, separation of religion and state, autonomy for Iran’s ethnicities, and a non-nuclear Iran “is in line with our own democratic values. https://tinyurl.com/h6xd5sm8
