Security forces continue to put pressure on the families of the victims slain during the 2022-2023 nationwide protests in Iran. On Friday, June 16, 2023, security forces arrest Ali Adinehzadeh, the father, Marzieh Adinehzadeh, the sister, and Reza Adinehzadeh, the uncle of Abolfazl Adinehzadeh. On the same night, they attacked the village where this family resides near Farooj in North Khorasan. They detained the mother and all relatives of Abolfazl Adinehzadeh, transferring them to an unknown location. https://tinyurl.com/ycxp2t42

Security forces arrested Ms. Fatemeh Tadrisi on May 9, during the teachers’ protest in Baharestan Square, Tehran-Iran. Fatemeh recently received a notification about a scheduled interrogation session through a video conference. However, on the designated day, after establishing contact with the relevant judicial authority from the prison, the session was canceled for unknown reasons. Ms. Tadrisi went on a hunger strike on May 28, to protest inadequate conditions in Qarchak Prison and demanded to be transferred to Evin Prison. As a punitive measure, she was moved to solitary confinement and deprived of the opportunity to contact her family. After eight days, she finally ended her hunger strike based on the officials’ promises to address her demands.

Natasha Khezri Javadi and her father, Javad Khezri Javadi, are still incarcerated in limbo. They were arrested on May 19, while assisting a girl who had been assaulted and brutalized by security forces during a protest in Tehran’s Sattarkhan Street. Mr. Khezri Javadi is currently in Evin Prison, while his daughter Natasha is imprisoned in Ward 6 of Qarchak Prison. https://tinyurl.com/ykfx5y9k

On Sunday, June 11, Nahid Shaqaqi, a women’s rights activist and a member of the Voice of Iranian Women Association (Neda-ye Zanan-e Iran), received a summons from the First Branch of the Implementation of Verdicts Office of the 33rd Prosecutor’s Office in Tehran. She was called to serve a two-year and three-month imprisonment sentence. The Tehran Revolutionary Court had previously sentenced Nahid Shaqaqi to the same term of imprisonment. She is required to appear at the mentioned court within 10 days from the date the summons was issued, i.e., June 11. https://tinyurl.com/3exzvwm4

Maryam Taghizadeh Dezfuli was arrested after security forces raided her residence. During the protests in Ahvaz, Ms.Taghizadeh was previously arrested on November 1, 2022. She was released on bail from Sepidar Prison in Ahvaz in late December 2022. Maryam Dezfuli was accused of “propaganda against the state” and detained in solitary confinement at the Sepah Abu-Fazl Ahvaz Detention Center for two weeks.

On June 9, the parents of some of the young people slain during the protests in Sanandaj, Dehgolan, and Divandareh participated in the birthday ceremony of Danial Pabandi, one of the martyrs of the Iran uprising, at Aychi Cemetery in Saqqez. Subsequently, they visited the tombs of the martyrs in Bukan and renewed their vows. The justice-seeking families from Sanandaj, Dehgolan, and Divandareh, along with the victims’ parents in Saqqez, gathered at the tomb of Mahsa Amini at Aychi Shrine. They held pictures of their fallen children in their hands and chanted slogans such as “Martyrs never die” to honor the victims and demand justice for them. They also protested against the government’s restricting access to Mahsa Amini’s tomb at Aychi Cemetery and the destruction of the gravestones of the slain. https://tinyurl.com/43szpxk2
