According to the latest reports on September 8, an unidentified woman was executed in the Central Prison of Qom, on Tuesday, September 5, 2023. She was convicted of deliberate murder. As of the time of this report, no state news outlet has published the execution of this woman, the 16th woman to be executed in 2023 and the 219th woman to be executed in Iran since 2007 https://tinyurl.com/3chhdwhc

Also on Monday morning Sept. 4 a woman named Mahboubeh Roshandel, 30 Years old and mother of a 3 year old toddler, was hanged in the Central Prison of Mashhad, aka Vakilabad Prison, in Iran. Convicted of murder, Mahboubeh Roshandel had been imprisoned for three years in the women’s ward of Vakilabad Prison without having the chance to see her baby even once. Former political prisoner Massoumeh Yavari is detained in limbo after 72 hours. Massoumeh's family went to the Prosecutor’s Office of Golpayegan to follow up on her case, but they were insulted and mistreated by the judiciary officials. Massoumeh used to have two injections every day as part of her treatment before being arrested. Ms. Yavari was arrested by agents of the Intelligence Ministry at her home on Monday, September 4, 2023. Some 20 agents attacked her husband as he was entering the house. They had warrant instructing them to even break into the house and make the arrests. Ms. Yavari’s husband was accused of supporting the opposition PMOI/MEK and destroying public properties. Massoumeh Yavari was born in 1979 and she was arrested by the Security forces in Tehran in September 2009. She was later sentenced to seven years in prison for having contacts with the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK). https://tinyurl.com/2m94k4cw
