Agents of the Intelligence Department of Rasht capital of Gilan province in Iran arrested labor activist Sharifeh Mohammadi at noon on Tuesday, December 5. They transferred her to an undisclosed location. Sharifeh Mohammadi was arrested after intelligence agents raided and ransacked her residence without presenting a warrant.

Imprisoned student, Armita Pavir, was summoned to court on the charge of propaganda against the state, on December 3. Armita is presently detained in the Central Prison of Tabriz. She has been on hunger strike since Dec. 6, in protest of horrible prison conditions. Her health is in critical condition so much that prison authorities were forced to transfer her to hospital last week. Armita Pavir, a student activist, was arrested by security forces on September 21 and transferred to the women’s ward of the Central Prison of Tabriz. Negin Chaparian, a 34-year-old Iranian citizen, faced a distressing situation after being sentenced to one year in prison by the 29th Branch of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran-Iran. Her offense? Walking her dog in a park while not covering her hair. The incident occurred in May 2023 when she was attacked by unidentified individuals, purportedly Basij or plainclothes agents. She filed a complaint against the assailants with a forensic medical certificate and confirmation of the bruises and testimony of the local people, but the Sharia judge declared her complaint closed. Later, she shared a video clip of the assault, which led to her subsequent arrest by the Ministry of Intelligence on August 6, 2023.
