Two journalists Zeinab Rahimi and Maryam Shokrani, have been fined for disseminating information on social media on the case of Armita Geravand in Iran. Armita Geravand entered one of Tehran’s metro stations on October 1, 2023, to go to school with her friends. Since the 17-year-old was not covering her hair, Hijab patrols gave her a warning in the metro train, and since she did not obey them, they attacked her, shoving her to the ground. Sarina Jahani 20 was arrested on September 16, 2023, on the anniversary of the 2022 nationwide uprising in Iran sparked by the death of Zhina Mahsa Amini in the custody of the Morality Police. The Security forces in Shahriar, one of the counties of Tehran Province, arrested Sarina and took her to Qarchak Prison. Some 600 women were arrested in Tehran on the anniversary of Iran protests.
