In the wake of a fragile ceasefire with Israel following a destructive 12-day war, the Iranian regime has launched a full-scale effort to project strength and suppress internal cracks—political, military, and societal—that threaten to widen. In a fresh wave of judicial pressure against teachers in Iran, an indictment has been issued for nine teachers and union activists in Kerman Province in Iran, including five female teachers, referring their case to Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court in Kerman. The indictment, lists the names of five female teachers—Shahnaz Rezaei, Zahra Azizi, Mitra Nikpour, Fatemeh Yazdani, and Leila Afshar—alongside four male teachers. On June 19, Hossniyeh Kaleki, a 41-year-old Baloch teacher and mother of four, died after being critically wounded by gunfire from plainclothes agents in the southeastern city of Iranshahr in Iran's Sistan Balouchestan provice. After six days in a coma in the intensive care of Khatam-ol-Anbia Hospital, she succumbed to her injuries.
