Since March of 2025, some 800 prisoners have been executed in Iran. Zeinab Jalalian, the only female political prisoner in Iran serving a life sentence, continues to suffer from deteriorating health and systematic denial of medical treatment in the 18th year of her sentence. In 2024 she was approched by the Iranian regime's Intelligence agents twice and given a codition for outside prison medical care if she signs a "letter of repentance". She has abviousley refused and stated that medical care is a legal entitlement and must not be weaponized for political cercion. Zeinab was arrested in 2007 and 2009, and was sentenced to death on charges of "enemity against God" for alleged membership in Opposition groups. On Tuesday, September 16, on the 86th week of the No to Execution Tuesdays Campaign, the political prisoners in 52 prisons across Iran launched another day of hunger strike, voicing their defiance against the regime’s repressive and execution-driven policies. On the third anniversary of Iran's 2022 Uprising, prisoners honored the memory of Mahsa (Jina) Amini and the victims of that nationwide uprising, emphasizing that although the historic movement of the Iranian people was met with bullets and brutal repression, “resistance in the streets and neighborhoods continues.” The families of the political prisoners on death row also continue to be the voice of their children outside the prison. https://tinyurl.com/5n8hjwy9

Political prisoner Azar Korvandi, in Qarchak Prison in Iran, althoug suffering from heart disease and cancer, is still systematically denied access to specialized medical care. Mrs. Korvandi was previously imprisoned as a political detainee in the 1980s, during which she was pregnant at the time of her arrest and gave birth while enduring harsh prison conditions under interrogation. https://tinyurl.com/4bvvmv7p
