1500 death row prisoners in ward 2 of Ghezel Hesar prison in Iran began a hunger strike on Oct. 13, 2025. Despite the efforts of the Prison Warden and other Prison officials to break the hunger strike, the prisoners definatly announced the continuation of their protes. The are demanding the hault of executions in Iran. The political prisoners in Evin and Ghezer Hesar have supported the prisoner's hunger strike. This is a historic protest by ordinary prisones in Iran's history. Since 14.5 months ago when Pezeshkian took office, more than 2000 prisoners have been killed in Iran.

More than seven months after the arrest of Zahra Shahbaz Tabari, a 60-year-old resident of Rasht, this political prisoner remains detained in Lakan Prison under uncertain conditions and without trial. The health condition of Shiva Esmaeli, a political prisoner held in the women’s ward of Evin Prison, has reportedly reached a critical stage. Shiva Esmaeli, who was previously transferred from Evin to Qarchak Prison in Varamin, developed severe back pain and limited mobility due to the unsanitary conditions and lack of medical facilities in Qarchak. The state’s pressure has extended beyond Esmaeli herself: two of her children, Seyed Mehdi Vafaei Sani and Seyed Ali Vafaei Sani, are also currently serving their prison terms. https://tinyurl.com/2cppv4vt
