Several ordinary prisoners beat political prisoner Yasaman Aryani on Wednesday, February 23. A well-informed source inside the prison reported that Ms. Aryani had recently been deprived of the small privileges granted to prisoners for participating in the prison’s cultural activities, including the library and theater. After her father and brother’s arrest, the regime security forces battered Farzaneh Ansarifar on February 21, in the Behbahan Prosecutor’s Office. Former political prisoner Arash Sadeghi tweeted that Farzaneh Ansarifar’s body was visibly bruised, and she had been hurt in the shoulder. Farzaneh Ansarifar is the sister of Farzad Ansarifar, who was killed by security forces during the November 2019 uprising in Behbahan. On Friday, February 19, Fatemeh Sameti’s husband stabbed her to death using a knife and an axe. On the same day, Tahereh Shafii, 22, was murdered by her father-in-law. Social media users said Fatemeh had long-time differences with her husband. But the actual motive for the murder is not clear. Her husband’s family told him to kill Fatemeh and they would pay for the blood money. Tahereh Shafii, 22, was also murdered in one of Halilan County villages in the western Iranian province of Ilam.
