Ahmadinejad:”I can’t believe that a leader kills his own people in Libya”

The State television in Iran broadcasted the speech of Ahmadinejad about the killings in Libya. He said:”I can not believe that a leader want to kill his own people. How can they be a leader of a country when they don’t listen to their people? Everybody knows what the future of a government like that would be.” – Ahmadinejad said. The Iranian regime opened fired on unaremed protesters last Monday killing at least 2 students. According to reports every 8 minutes one prisoner is being hanged in Iran.

The Shiraz student’s rally got violent

The Shiraz university students started a rally on Feb. 23rd which turned violent when the regime forces got involved. The Students were seeking an answer regarding Hamed Nourmohammadi’s death by the regime’s forces. He is the third student who was killed by the regime’s forces in the past week.

IAEA has new info on alleged nuclear weapons work by Iran

Associated France Press reported on Feb. 25th that the UN nuclear watchdog said Friday it has received new information regarding allegations of possible military dimensions to Iran’s controversial nuclear programme. AFP added: The International Atomic Energy Agency has been investigating the Islamic republic’s disputed atomic drive for a number of years, with a range of issues still unresolved, among them allegations that Iran had undertaken studies to build a nuclear payload for a missile. In a restricted new report, a copy of which was obtained by AFP, the IAEA said Iran was still refusing 'to discuss a number of outstanding issues related to possible military dimensions to its nuclear work.' Tehran insists its atomic programme is entirely peaceful. But Western countries believe it is a guise to a covert nuclear weapons programme and have compiled evidence that it was involved in weaponisation studies -- work which included uranium conversion, high explosives testing and the adaptation of a ballistic missile cone to carry a nuclear warhead -- at least until 2003.

Iranian Regime plans to increase number of prisons as dissent grows

The Iranian regime will build 47 new prisons over the next three years to accommodate a growing prison population, according to the state-run Khabar Online on Saturday. Gholam-Hossein Esmaeeli, the director of the Iran’s prison system, was quoted as saying, “Some of the prisons are in the process of being built. … The Prisons Organization seeks to bring into operation 47 new detention centers over the course of the next three years.”

Demonstrations began Hours ago in different cities in Iran

According to reports many students are on the streets chanting death to dictator. people started to come out at 1pm and went to the most used streets in tehran, Vali Asr, Azadi , Imam Hossein, Pastor square etc..

In valiasr the students started their demonstration and crowd is growing by the minutes. But the police and riots are all over, specially in Azadi square. There were reports that a big crowd have gathered in Vali Asr, in front of the State Media TV house in Tehran. The government forces shoot tear gas at the protesters. People have taken over the Haft Tir square, Enghelab and ValiAsr. Reports indicate clashes between people and regime’s forces in Shiraz. According to reports Young people threw Koktile Molotof at the riot police and specail forces.

Police using Ambulance for arresting people

According to Freedom Messanger in Tehran, Valiasr, Government thugs are using ambulance to get into the crowds. When the ambulance gets into the crowd, they arrest people and place them inside the ambulance and drive away. They do this, because they know people are not going to attack an ambulance.

One person was killed by the Iranian regime today!

Unconfirmed reports indicate that one person was shot and killed instantly by the Iranian regime’s forces in 7 tir square today! The police are fully armed and many people are hurt. The Iranian regime announced a few days ago that any anti regime movement will be ”answered”.

10 executions in 5 days in Iran

NCRI(Narional council of Resisitance of Iran) reported on Feb. 19, that in a group execution, the Iranian regime put to death 4 prisoners in Kerman (south-central Iran) on Friday, February 18. In Sanandaj (western Iran), two prisoners were hanged on February 15, and 2 other prisoners in Khoram-Abad (western Iran) and 2 more in Sari (northern Iran) were hanged on February 14. In the past five days, after the Iranian people’s uprising that erupted on February 14, the number of executions announced has reached 10. This is while the regime’s judicial officials admit that secret executions are carried out in prisons.

Two died after Iranian police opened fire at rally in Tehran

Thousands of demonstrations clashed with security forces in the centre of the Iranian capital, Tehran on Monday and Tuesday. Police used tear gas and shot at the protesters resulting 2 dead. Sane Jale and Mohamad Mokhtari were killed on Monday when the regime forces opened fire at protesters. Sane Jale’s coffin was carried by his killers at his funeral today in Tehran. As usual the Iranian regime blamed the Iranian opposition, the US and Britain, for the demonstrations and blamed the death on the PMOI (people’s mojahedin of Iran). There were similar demonstrations in Mashhad, Shiraz, Isfahan.

Police in Iran square off against tens of thousands of protesters

According to Associated Press clashes between Iranian police and tens of thousands of protesters wracked central Tehran on Monday as security forces beat and fired tear gas at opposition supporters hoping to evoke Egypt’s recent popular uprising. Police used tear gas against the protesters in central Tehran’s Enghelab, Revolution square and in Imam Hossein square, as well as in other nearby main streets. Demonstrators responded by setting garbage bins on fire to protect themselves from the stinging white clouds. Eyewitnesses said at least three protesters injured by bullets were taken to a hospital in central Tehran while dozens of others were hospitalized because of severe wounds as a result of being beaten.

"An Iranian dies but doesn’t accept humiliation,” demonstrators chanted. “Death to the dictator,” they said, in a chant directed at hardline President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Security forces on motorcycles could also be seen chasing protesters through the streets, according to eyewitnesses.The semiofficial Fars news agency called protesters “hypocrites, monarchists, ruffians and seditionists,” and ridiculed them for not chanting any slogans about Egypt as they had originally promised. Fars, which is linked to the Revolutionary Guard, Iran’s most powerful military force, said an unspecified number of protesters were arrested and handed over to police and security officials. It didn’t elaborate.

Protesters attacked and shot in Shiraz

Based on reports received by Human Rights and Democracy Activists in Iran, security forces have attacked the crowd of protesters in Shiraz. Shots were heard on Eram Street, Namazi Street and Setad Square. Many ambulances are moving in and out to transfer the wounded. The students at Engineering Faculty of Shiraz University staged a large protest and entered Namazi Street. Citizens joined in. Other protests were staged at Setad Square, Molasadra and Eram streets. People were marching and chanting slogans like “Death to the dictator”. Around 6:30pm, security forces attacked the protesters and beat them with batons; however, when they were unable to disperse the crowd, they fired shots into the air. Some unconfirmed reports indicate that security forces opened fire on the protesters, which resulted in the injury of some people. Following the reported shooting, ambulances left the city’s hospital located in Paramount to the location of the shooting. Meanwhile, the security of the Eram Student dormitory (of Shiraz University) prevented students from leaving the dorm and threatened them to not take part in the protests. A large number of security forces surrounded the areas where protests were being held and tried to disperse the crowd. However, people continued their protests and fought back. Some of the students were beaten by the forces and some have been arrested.

10 secretly hanged in Mashhad prison

On Tuesday, the Iranian regime secretly hanged 10 prisoners collectively at Vakilabad prison in the northeastern city f Mashhad, according to human rights groups and Harana news agency. The Human Rights Organization of Iran reported that the 10 were allegedly charged with drug-related offenses. The hangings took place without the prior knowledge of the lawyers or families.

Fearful of protests, regime targets the internet and phone lines

According to National Council of Resistance of Iran or NCRI, Fearing increased usage of the internet for planning anti-regime protests by Iranian youths, the regime has disrupted internet connections in cities like Shahr-e Kord, where internet service providers have stopped service completely for long hours citing “technical difficulties.” It has been reported that according to telecommunication engineers, the disruption did not arise from technical issues but rather deliberate attempts by the regime to choke off growing use of internet and its social forums against the regime. The Iranian regime’s telecommunications company in Tehran has disrupted telephone usage in vast parts of the city, it was reported on Thursday. Since Tuesday night and simultaneous with growing public calls for an anti-regime protest on the 32nd anniversary of the Iranian revolution, mobile phones in extensive parts of Tehran were reported to have limited or no connectivity.

And finally after almost 30 years of dictatorship, Hosni Mobarak was forced by the Egyptian people to leave the presidentcy in Egypt. This victory will have positive implications in the Middle East. As such 14 of Feb. is set for demonstrations in Iran. On Valentine’s Day the Iranian people are getting ready to show their love for freedom and to show how much they’re willing to give for democracy once more. Even though some fractions do not want to hear anti-Khamenie slogans but this is innavitable.

Teenager sentenced to death in Iran

An Iranian court in the province of Fars has sentenced a teenage boy to death by hanging. According to reports from Harana news agency on Saturday, Ashkan Miri was 14 at the time of committing the crime attributed to him by the regime. He was reportedly involved in a brawl that led to the accidental death of another teenager. Reports also indicate that Ashkan’s father had give up his son to the regime’s judiciary thinking that because of his young age he would not face the death penalty. But, the regime’s judiciary officials sentenced him to death nonetheless.


UN Rights Chief Slams Iran for Large Number of Executions

The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navi Pillay, expresses alarm at the dramatic increase in executions in Iran since the beginning of this year. Pillay is calling on the Iranian authorities to establish a moratorium on executions with a view to abolishing the death penalty. Iranian press reports say at least 66 people were executed in the month of January.

Regime’s Intelligence Ministry doesn’t permit deliverance of Zahra Bahrami’s body to her family

On Monday Jan. 31 when Banafsheh, Zahra Bahrami’s daughter, went to receive her mother’s body the agents of Intelligence Ministry didn’t permit it. In addition they threatened her of having any interview about her mother’s execution and told her that she must give all her mother’s belongings to the regime or she must deposit the equivalent amount of money to the account number that they appoint for that purpose. The Dutch government is also demanding the return of Bahrami's body to Netherland.

Iran bans state TV from teaching foreign recipes

Associate Press reported on Sunday that a state-owned news website says Iran’s broadcasting authority has banned Iranian TV channels from showing cooking programs that present recipes for foreign cuisine. Jamejamonline reported late Saturday that the deputy head of Iran’s state broadcasting company, Ali Darabi, announced the ban during a visit to one of the country’s 30 state-run TV channels. Some cooking programs on Iranian stations present recipes for foreign cuisine, such as Italian and French. The ban is seen as part of a nationalistic campaign increasingly pushed by Iran’s government in recent years. Pizza, pasta and Western fast foods like hamburgers and hot-dogs are popular in Iran, and Tehran boasts many restaurants that serve Western or Asian food.

Egypt tells Iran: mind your own business

Accorging to Washin post Egypt’s foreign minister has told the Iranian regime to mind its own business after Iran’s top leader praised the Egyptian uprising as an appropriate response to dictatorial rule. Ahmed Aboul Gheit told reporters Saturday that Iran’s Ali Khamenei seems to have forgotten about the crushing of widespread protests in Iran two years ago.
Aboul Gheit said Khamenei should be more attentive to calls for freedom in Iran rather than ’distracting the Iranian people’s attention by hiding behind what is happening in Egypt.’ The Egyptian foreign minister said that ’Iran’s critical moment has not come yet, but we will watch that moment with great anticipation and interest.’ Egypt has been rocked by two weeks of protests seeking the ouster of Hosni Mubarak.
